2023 September - October

Recent work

This was another productive period with 100% of my time going to open source.

Highlights:

• The usual support, hotfixes, etc.
• 14 library releases including:
  • Carmine v3.3.0 with the first stable release of a significantly improved message queue architecture and API.
  • Nippy v3.3.0 with updated benchmarks, efficiency improvements, and experimental transducer support.
  • Nippy v3.4.0-beta1 with significant compression performance improvements, support for Zstandard, and a much improved freezable? util.
  • http-kit v2.8.0-beta2 with auto Java 21+ virtual threads for both client+server, extensive new benchmark suite and results, early support for Ring-style async handlers, and more.
• Continued work on Tempel, an upcoming data security framework for Clojure.
• Continued work on Telemere, an upcoming structured telemetry library for Clojure/Script.
• Did an interview with Daniel Compton (still to be published).

Upcoming work

My current roadmap includes:

• Tempel is nearing completion, I'm down to the final polishing and documentation. Aiming for the first public pre-release early November.
• Telemere's first pre-release is then planned for ~mid December.
