Hey folks, it's the end of the year again! 🍾🎉
Will keep today's update short-
This was another busy year for open source work, with almost 50 public releases (🫣). The biggest can be easily seen on my 2024 roadmap.
The headline focus was Telemere - a modern rewrite of Timbre that offers an improved API to cover traditional logging, structured logging, tracing, basic performance measurement, and more.
That's been a lot of ongoing work - getting things polished for v1 final. I'm pretty happy with the present state: v1 RC2 was recently released, and I expect that to become v1 final in January 🎉
The agenda for next year (2025) currently includes:
- Telemere v1 final
- Tempel v1 final (sorry for the delay on this!)
- Sente v1.21 (with lots of planned improvements)
- Tufte v3 (incl. sharing Telemere's core)
- Truss v2 (incl. improved integration with Telemere)
- Continued long-term work on Carmine v4 (currently in early alpha)
